在中国最南端的省份海南省定安县，有一个名叫后岭村的村庄，拥有一棵参天古榕，树龄逾800年。该古榕“独木成林”，冠盖如云，如一张巨大的圆顶篷盖，铺天盖地，远看犹如一片森林，成为当地的一道独特景观。
In Ding'an County, Hainan Province, the southernmost province of China, there is a village called Houling Village, where there is an ancient banyan tree that is very tall and over 800 years old. The luxuriant tree has leafy branches that look like a huge dome canopy. It looks like a forest from a distance, and has become a unique local scenery.
据了解，整棵古榕连接地面的大小树干多达260多枝，占地超6500平方米，接近一个标准足球场的面积，号称“亚洲榕树王”。当地村民常常来到它的跟前祈求平安。海内外的游客也慕名而来，被它的壮观景象所震撼。
It is said that there are more than 260 trunks connected to the ground, covering an area of more than 6,500 square meters that is close to the area of a standard football field. Thus, the tree is known as the " Banyan King in Asia". It is worshiped as a god in the eyes of the local villagers, who often pray for safety in front of the tree.
